Modular planter scheme featuring sloped bases and faceted faces
About the project
We collaborated closely with PAD Landscapes on developing the design of these Planters to be located adjacent to the newly built Ruby Zoe Hotel in Notting Hill Gate, London to be installed by Acre Landscapes.
A particular feature of these planters was their faceted front face, a feature developed by PAD which had to be achieved with perfectly straight and seamless lines. This introduced numerous fabrication complexities that had to be overcome.
The bases of each planter were sloped to suit the paving surface so that their top edge could run perfectly in parallel with the windows above. Fine tuning was achieved using the integral adjustable feet mounted in the recessed base.
Each planter measured over 5m in length divided into 2 sub sections with the joint concealed below the planting surface. The material used was 2mm galvanised steel powder coated RAL 7021 Black Grey in a Matt finish.
