About the project
Forming a large "L" section around the corner of the rooftop, the scheme by our friends at Modular was both simple and effective. A full set of 3D models was supplied for client approval prior to manufacture. Because of the access issues, planters were supplied in a bolt-together format.
When joining large sections of planters, we have developed a system bolting together below the planting surface. All fixings are hidden and this means the lip detail is uninterrupted which is much more pleasing to the eye and does not look like multiple planters. The only evidence of a join is a slight seam in the front face.
The planters had to include a pelmet system, which concealed a lead flashing along the front of the building. This was supplied separately and simply bolted into place during installation, all with invisible fixings.
