A bespoke modular planter system in Corten steel
About the project
As part of the second phase of this project, we were commissioned to produce a modular planter system in Corten for the roof terrace of a private residence in Primrose Hill, London designed by Landscape Architects Todd Longstaffe-Gowan.
Over 3.7m in length, 0.7m in height with the width tapering from 0.795m, a modular format was used as access was limited through the property to the terrace.
A particular complication of this project was the need for the central planter to be suspended with integral steelwork between the outer planters.
The Planters were fabricated from 3mm Corten and included a 30mm x 20mm Lip Detail, Drainage Holes and Adjustable Feet for levelling. The surface was shot blasted post fabrication to accelerate the weathering process.
The planters fitted perfectly and the rust colour of the Corten contrasted perfectly with the galvanised planters previously supplied, terrace floor grating and handrails.
